baby doll

Several months ago our neighbors gave Audrie a life size doll that is so cute. Audrie loves it and drags this doll around the house and takes naps with it and slobbers and snots on it and tries to feed it snacks... poor doll! Anyways the other day I decided it was time to see what Audrie would look like in those doll clothes...!
Think I waited a little too long... they're a little small on her! But still pretty funny to see her run around the house in.
Thanks, Terrie and Stuart, for the cute doll! Don't be surprised if this little doll knocks on your door for Halloween! :)

teens and tennis

Saturday was a fun filled day that started off with 75 hyper singers!
We had a Bentonville Children's Choir retreat all day to get some extra rehearsal time in (and play games and eat), but the kids worked really hard and are getting all ready for our first concert in a couple weeks.
That evening Jamie, Audrie and I headed out to the Pinnacle tennis charity event. Jamie won all his matches and his team came in 2nd place for the overall event. Audrie was a good little cheerleader for her daddy.

The weather was BEAUTIFUL!
And there was a great little playground next to the tennis courts where we spent some time between matches.
As always, Jamie played some great tennis- we were so proud of him!
Even if he didn't like how the shots were called...

Audrie got a little rock climbing time in, too.
The swinging didn't do much for my pregnant nausea but Audrie had fun.
Here is Jamie and his winning team at the awards ceremony.
The had a banquet afterwards with live music. Audrie is such a wallflower she was a little timid about getting out on the dance floor...
It was a busy Saturday but lots of fun!

there's a baby in my belly!

Jamie and I went today for our first doctor visit for the new baby... so exciting! The due date is May 24th and we are super ecstatic about all the experiences the next eight months will bring. Audrie is still a little too young to know what is about to happen to her world... but she's being pretty cute about it all! Are you in there, little brother or sister?!
Here's your first kiss from your big sister...!
Audrie has been such an amazing blessing to our lives, that we are praising God for letting us do this again. We already can't wait to meet this little one!

move over, Picasso...

So the other day I decided to see what little miss Audrie would do with some finger paints. And I have to say I was pretty impressed. I laid out an old vinyl shower curtain that we just happened to have and let her go at it. She needed a little encouragement getting started... (are you sure, mom, that it's ok for me to stick my fingers in this paint and smear it all over the place?!).
But she grasped the concept quickly and there was no stopping the fun after that. She had a great time!

Not too shabby for her first major work of art. I think its the start of a nice collection... Audrie Cornett- The Early Years. :)

go hogs

Well the Razorbacks didn't win, but we sure had fun at the game anyways! Here's our lovely "go hogs!" iPhone photo...

We're excited about football season- the band has a new director this year and seems to be off to a great start. Hopefully the future games will have better scores (and better weather so we can do some real tailgating)!

bowling champs

We went out last night with our friends, Jim and Emily, for sushi and bowling. And had a dang good time! I got my game face on- seeing as how I am a very serious bowler. Um, yeh.
Jim actually surprised us all by being incredibly good at this! I think he has a secret life as a professional bowler in his "spare time".
He tried to coach Emily to help her improve her technique...
But it obviously did no good... check out her score by the fifth frame here! Pretty sweet.
I put a bowling ball under my shirt so we could get a little view of the future...
Bowling is not my favorite pastime but it was really fun and we had a great time.
We finished up the night sitting at Starbucks for way too long discussing religion and solving the world's problems... ha! Thanks, Jim and Em, for a fun night. Can't wait til we all join that bowling league together. :)

speaking of babies...

This past weekend my friend Shannon asked me to take some photos of their new baby girl, Kayla Grace. 6 days old! Definitely my youngest model (not counting Audrie, of course). Little Kayla was just an angel- so sweet, cuddly and let me take all kinds of fun photos of her. It was such a joy! Here's just a few of the million photos I took...

So sweet. Makes me even more crazy excited about getting to have another tiny little bundle of love all over again!

who needs a spoon?

Audrie really has done great the past couple months with feeding herself for every meal. Except the other day before I could stop her she decided to go all crazy on her yogurt...

She had a little too much fun making a HUGE mess! But I think I was a little jealous. Maybe next time I go to dinner with someone I'll just starting rubbing my food all over my shirt...?? Could be fun! :)
