rollin' on the river

Friday afternoon we packed up and headed to the White River to spend three days with the Burrow Family at Gaston's. (Emily posted some really fun photos on her blog.) We feel SO blessed to be included in their family get-together! And we got to sleep in a pink cottage. :)
The view from our back porch was so peaceful. The fresh air was wonderful!
The entire weekend was so relaxing... catching up with our friends Jason and Sam (who flew in from NYC), laughing around way too many games of trivial pursuit, eating some delicious food, and letting Audrie and Ben run & play.
Dan & Cindy (Momma and Papa Burrow) had a great time playing with their grandson (and their "honorary grandaughter")...
As usual, Audrie was nonstop energy all day. But being outside so much was heaven for her.
Jim, Emily and Ben.
Me, Jamie and a little girl we almost got to sit still...

Jason and Sam. We have missed them so much!
Burrow Boys.
The future Mr. and Mrs. Ben Burrow.
I lost count of how many games of Trivial Pursuit we played. And just in case you ever thought you were smart... don't play trivia games with this crowd. I found out really fast how much I don't know!
Audrie ate way too much junk food all weekend. But thoroughly enjoyed herself!
A few more random photos...

Oh the airplanes were so fun. There is a grass landing strip right in the middle of everything and I loved seeing all the planes landing and taking off. Made me miss flying SO bad. (Back when I had my pilot's license I actually landed on this runway at Gaston's.)

I keep telling myself that some day I'll pick it back up again. I'm sure it's just like riding a bicycle, right?? Just hop back in the cockpit and take off...!
The restaurant at Gaston's is crazy good. (Jamie gained 5 pounds in three days.)
A HUGE thank you to the Burrow family for letting us crash their family weekend. What a wonderful family they are! (Though we did miss Josh and Juli... the only missing link of the weekend.)

And yes there were a few spiders in our room and a snake on the back porch, but even still I would go back in second! Maybe next time I can fly us all in...!
