We went early in the morning, hoping to beat the crowds. But Jamie and I were determined to brave it even if it was madness.
And actually we lucked out and there wasn't a crowd! (Who knew that could happen in NYC??)
We went straight up the 8th floor of Macy's and walked right into Santaland! Audrie was a little unsure at first, but she quickly got excited when she saw all the festiveness.
At the entrance they had displays playing all the famous Santa movies.
There was a little bit of a line, but it was moving quickly. It was just enough of a pace that we got to enjoy all the displays along the way.
Then we boarded the train to the North Pole...
and once we arrived it was actually pretty magical. I almost felt like I was at Disney World for a moment.
Talking trees...
A huge city with tracks of trains running everywhere.
Annie was enthralled with it all, too.
A teddy bear marching band.
Santa's sleigh...
And finally we arrived at Santa's front door. Audrie tried to act shy for a moment, but then walked right in. I didn't take photos inside Santa's house, but he was so sweet with the girls! Both Audrie and Annie walked right up and sat in his lap. He whispered to them about if they had been good girls this year and what they wanted for Christmas.
Audrie told him she wanted a Barbie and then she translated for Annie's babble and told Santa that Annie wanted a little baby doll of her own. So precious.
It was a fun morning at Macy's!
