grape festival

We decided to check out the Tontitown Grape Festival last night since neither of us has ever been. It was actually a bigger deal than I expected it to be. Lots of booths, food vendors, carnival rides, and of course grapes...

Audrie was trying to look at everything all at once.
Our friend, Jim, met us after he got off work. It was crazy hot outside so we didn't stay too long.
They even had grape flavored ice cream!
So we decided to try it. It wasn't my favorite. But at least now I know. (I'm wearing my glasses... that I've had since 1998... because I have an eye infection. Stinks!)
Jamie gave Audrie a little taste of the ice cream too. I think she liked it. Probably because anything tastes better than mashed up peas.
I really wanted to ride the carousel, but since it was so hot we decided to get our food to go and get back to some air conditioning.
The spaghetti dinner was really good! Homemade pasta and sauce with two big pieces of fried chicken on top. What's not to like??

There was a live band playing some good ol' country pickin tunes.
Despite the heat, Audrie really likes being outside. I wish we could have stayed longer (there were definitely some "interesting" characters that made for some great people watching) but now at least we can say we've been. If we come back next year we'll have to go after the sun has set and it's a little cooler. (And maybe Audrie will be big enough to ride the carousel with me!)
