spring break in july?

The warm weather this past week was so wonderful! Tuesday afternoon I got to take Audrie to Gulley Park in her stroller for awhile with some friends and I even got a little pink sunburn. And the next afternoon I was getting sleepy and wanted to take a nap, but the weather was so nice that I wanted to get outside, too. So I laid some blankets out on our back deck and Audrie and I took a nap together in the warm sunshine. It was sooo nice. Jamie may have a real hard time getting me to go back to work...!

This sunny weather has made me even more excited about our trip to Florida this summer. (We've rented a beach house with a group of friends and are going to spend a week in Destin this July.) We are sad that we won't be able to go with Jamie's family on vacation in June, but they are going the week after we get back from Chicago with the Bentonville Children's Choir and Jamie would have trouble taking off two back to back weeks from work like that. Hopefully we'll get to go with Jamie's family next time.

With the new baby we weren't able to take our annual spring break trip this week so we are looking forward to our belated "spring break" in July. I'm tempted to make these pictures (of the beach house we'll be staying in) the backdrop on my computer...



In the meantime I guess I'll have to sit on our porch swing and pretend I can hear the ocean waves.
