saturday in the park with will

This past Saturday when the weather was wonderfully warm, I met my bff from high school, Dawnica, and her little boy Will at the park. Audrie loved it! We had a great time.

Will is such a cutey! He will be 3 on Feb 5th... same bday as Audrie!
Audrie even made a new friend... I'm pretty sure they were swapping fashion tips...
I love these next two photos of Audrie because somewhere there is a photo of me about this same age in a swing like this at the park... I need to try to find that photo.
Audrie LOVES to swing.
And so does Will!

We fed ducks at the duck pond (which was terrifying for me because I have an unnatural fear of birds), but Audrie loves animals so I toughed it out for her.
But Will has no fear. He is a pro at duck feeding.

It was so nice to get out in the fresh air and spend some time with Dawnica. As much as I'd love a snow day soon, I'd also be thrilled with some more warm days like these!

11 months old

Audrie is 11 months this week... 4 more weeks til the big day! She is always on the go. Zipping around the house on a mission. So it's harder to get any still photos of her. But the other day she had just woken up from a nap (hence the sleepy eyes and wild hair) so I managed to get a few shots of our sweet baby girl.

She really loves looking at books! She will sit for 20-30 minutes just looking through page after page of her books. Usually babbling along some made up story that only she understands...
Here I caught her mid sentence as she was turning the page and telling me all about the story...(She also loves swatting at my camera strap...) How can a little girl who looks so much like her daddy be this darn cute? :)

I spend alot of my day kissing these little cheeks! Ugh. Can't believe I have to go back to work and miss my baby girl all day. How many days til summer break?!

christmas song

I've written a couple songs in my life, but not too many that I share with other people. But for Christmas I acutally sang a song I wrote for church. Here is the video from that service a few weekends ago...

On that cold night, when it all began. A tiny girl held her baby in her hands.

This is my baby. This is my son. He is the child of God. He is the Chosen One.

The wise men came from near and far, to see the baby lying 'neath the star.

The angels sang of his majesty. And all around fell to their knees. And Mary cried...

This is my baby. This is my son. He is the child of God. He is the Chosen One.

The tiny babe grew into a boy. Astounding with His wisdom and joy. In the temple courts he spoke God's law and his mother stood and watched in awe...

This is my baby. This is my son. He is the child of God. He is the Chosen One.

Ridiculed and dying in shame. This great man for our sin was slain. His mother bowed before the cross and through her tears they heard her sob...

This is my baby. This is my son. He is the child of God. He is the Chosen One.

On that cold night, when it all began. A tiny girl held her baby in her hands.

(You can actually go to our church's website to view the videos from each week's service- Temple Baptist Church.)

scrub a dub dub

I snapped some fun photos of Audrie in her favorite pastime the other day... this little girl is nuts about BATH TIME!

If you look closely you can see her two little bottom teeth...

Bath time is the highlight of her night. And she loves my rendition of Rubber Ducky, too! :)

a new year

Happy 2009! Jamie and I rung in the new year with our pals Nathan and Kim. We went out for dinner, movie and some good times. We made it home just in time to countdown with Dick Clark and a few goofball photos...

You know I'm a sucker for photo booths! (When I'm rich and famous I want to have one in my house.) We saw one while we were out and tried to cram all four of us in for some fabulous photos...And the best thing ever was that my parents kept Audrie all night at their house so the first thing I did in 2009 was.... SLEEP IN!! (A great way to start off a year!) I hope each of you have a truly wonderful New Year!

family pics

When we were home in Green Forest last week I snapped a few quick photos for Jamie's family...

(Jamie got me a tripod for Christmas *whoo hoo!* so I was able to use the self timer to throw myself in a couple photos!)

Here ya go, Chalona...
And the whole gang...

(If you click that photo you'll see that Audrie's face really says it all...)

christmas with the cornetts

I guess back in the old days, people used to force their guests to watch boring slideshows of their photos... so here is my modern version of our Christmas adventures. Way too many photos of the Cornett Christmas Vacation 2008... peruse at your own risk:

We drove back to our hometown of Green Forest to spend two days with Jamie's family. There is a renovated train depot next to his mother's house and they reserved it for their big family get-together.
Audrie must have been a good girl this year because she got lots and lots of gifts.

Tiffanie's little boy, Jess, has the biggest adorable eyes in the world! It was great to get to see everyone and let Audrie get her cheeks pinched a little, too.
She also got to show off her singing skills because all the boys played Rock Band for hours each night. They were kind enough to let Audrie slobber along.
And Jamie and I even snuck away for a date to Jim's Drive-In for the infamous Taco Pie!
After we left GF, we headed to my parent's house for some Christmas Eve traditions.
Matching pajamas, of course, for everyone!

We opened the traditional box of gifts from my Aunt- full of all kinds of crazy items. Even a tiny grass skirt that my dad put on Audrie!
And we finished the night with my mom's delicious Christmas cookies and eggnog.
Jamie, Audrie and I went home Christmas Eve to our house so we could have our own family Christmas time together. We got Audrie one of those little tyke kitchen playsets a few weeks ago and on Christmas Eve Jamie thought he would take a few minutes to put it together... more like a few hours! It came in a billion pieces that we spent a long time putting together. But it was fun.
And Audrie loves it!We got her up early Christmas morning and opened presents at our house before heading back to my parents for more presents and a Christmas brunch.
Thursday night we headed down to Searcy to spend some time with the Burrow Family! We picked Jason and Sam up in Fort Smith. Audrie is not a big fan of three hour car drives so we spent some time trying to entertain her... we sang a pretty sweet 4 part remix of The Wheels on the Bus! :)
At the Burrow's we got to relax and spend time doing whatever we wanted. (And playing alot of Nintendo Wii!)
We also spent alot of time talking and eating around their kitchen bar. The Burrow's really do feel like family to us.
Since Audrie is so active now, it's tough keeping up with her! But she did hitch a ride with Ben in his new Christmas wagon...
Before we made the big trip home we bought Audrie one last Christmas gift... a new car seat! Now she is a big girl facing forward in the car. She was excited to be able to see everything.
As truly wonderful as the week was- it was SO nice to walk in our front door and collapse. There really is no place like home!
