little miss thang

Oh Audrie. What to say about this little girl lately? Every single day she is on a mission. She packs her purse with at least three toy cell phones every morning, plus a few necessary items such as a tiara and a mardi gras bead necklace. She kisses us goodbye, tells us to have a good day and OFF SHE GOES. (To her bedroom or living room or somewhere to start her daily mission.) What her exact agenda is each day... is beyond me, but she is always on the go and working on something important. And she is usually singing the entire time. And, heaven forbid, if something or someone gets in her way. Ok, wait, am I still describing Audrie...?? This little girl is way too much like her mother. (It makes it really tough to discipline her for behaving just like me.) So she LOOKS like her daddy and ACTS like her mother! :)
I think most of you know that Audrie stays with Jamie's mom during the day. I try not to rub it in your face to often how lucky we are by having Donna come to our house to love on Audrie all day, and do dishes, and laundry and... yeh, I'll stop there. We are so blessed to have her. (And maybe Audrie is getting a little too spoiled by her grandma but I'm sure having two grandbabies soon will help with that!). Although the other day Audrie did lock Donna out of the house! It's a long story but basically Donna was out on the back porch for a moment and Audrie closed the door and locked it (ok she did it on accident but I still think it's pretty funny). Jamie had to drive home from work (he works 4 minutes down the road) to come unlock the door with his house key. By the time he got there Audrie had figured out how to unlock the door and let Donna in, but I can just imagine for a moment Audrie was like... "I'm going to get a huge pile of cookies and sit right here and eat them ALL! Mwah ha ha!".

I can't wait to see how Audrie reacts to a little sister! I'm already praying that we will raise these girls to truly love each other despite the hair pulling and clothes sharing. Oh, what an adventure this will be! Never a dull moment. :)

baby sarah

Ok, so I realize this is a RIDICULOUS amount of photos to share of someone else's baby... but I just had so much fun doing this photo shoot that I couldn't help but share too many photos. My friend, Kara, had her little baby girl last weekend and I offered to come do some newborn pictures for her. (And really I promise this is only a small amount of ALL the photos I took!) But here are some of my favorites of little 8 day old baby Sarah...

Thank you, Kara, for letting me spend a little time with your precious baby girl!

nursery update

Working on Annie's nursery has been SO fun! (It's been a comforting distraction from my swollen feet and newly acquired stretch marks.) I just got this pillow off etsy.com and I selected all the fabrics to match her room.
The bedding is still coming along, all we have left is the actual blanket for the crib. I know all the fabrics are really busy patterns, but I love it that way!
Jamie painted this old bookshelf we had in the garage and it turned out really cute.
And he picked out this totally adorable piggy bank for Annie, too! He's such a good daddy.
We hung a few shelves on the walls and have frames all ready and waiting for some amazing Kim Photography. (Kitty is not part of the decor...)
Although our loving cat has already left a welcome message for this new baby... by peeing all over the rocker chair. (It took some amazing super powered urine de-funker spray to get it all out.) Thanks, kitty.
And we got a rug for the floor from Target. It is super soft!
Still trying to get the closet organized and ready for Annie to arrive.
With all of Audrie's dresses (and a couple new ones from friends and family). A girl can't have ALL hand-me-downs, right? :)
I hung a ribbon in the closet for the hairbows (she will have to share those with her sister).
Little accessories all ready for some newborn baby photo shoots. :)
And I love going into Annie's room and opening the drawers to see these tiny onesies just waiting for a little baby to fill them.
Most of these are Audrie's but I got a few news ones, like this one, at the Rhea Lana consignment sale last month.
There are still a few things I have left to do in the nursery. I need to recover this chair with some new fabric, but I just can't decide what color to do. Right now it's a rose red color and I don't know if I want to do turquoise, pink, or a neutral color...?? Plus I'm a little intimidated by trying to do those buttons, too. Any volunteers to do it for me?! :)
I also need to hang these flowers that I bought for the wall. (This is the sample photo from the website.) They are super cute but I just can't decide where to put them in the room.
That's the latest on Annie's nursery. I am LOVING working on it! There are still several practical things we need before this baby arrives, but doing all the decorative stuff is way more fun!

random

I think Jamie may be "nesting" too because the past few weekends he has been working me way too hard around the house. Painting, cleaning, organizing...! (Or maybe it's his new coffee pot that he got... too much caffeine!) He has been Mr Fix It lately and dragging me along for the ride. I've also been keeping busy with several photo shoots lately that I can't wait to share, but in the meantime here are some random Audrie photos.

The other morning I went to wake her up and this is where I found her (sound asleep with her blanket and stuffed animal)...

We took her to Chuck E Cheese the other night and she had a blast. That place is still a little too crazy for me, but Jamie had never been before so it was time for him to experience it!
That's it for now. We are enjoying this wonderful weekend!! Hope you are too.

easter sunday

On Sunday we made a quick drive over to Green Forest for church and an Easter lunch with Jamie's family. (I think in this next photo Audrie is discussing cute shoes with Dylan...)
There are a few cousins Audrie's age that she got to do an egg hunt with after lunch.
And she was READY this time! Bring on the candy filled eggs! :)
Dylan and Jess were on a mission, too!
Melanie did have to help Jess a little, but he loved finding the eggs.
And they had a good cheering section...
Here is Dylan showing off his sweet camo basket.
And Audrie pausing to take a quick inventory of her candy stash.
Audrie was too busy eating candy to smile for a photo.
Ok, well maybe a half smile...
Keeton was so nice to help the little boys open their eggs.
It was way too windy to get a family picture, but we tried.
The weather was actually wonderful, but the wind was really blowing!
Tiffanie did better at getting her two boys to pose for a photo.

It was a fun afternoon with family and the kiddos! Although we may have to send Audrie to rehab for some serious candy detox.
